Returning Veterans, PTS/PTSD and Post-Traumatic Growth

From my guest post on the ReGroup Therapy site:

I have so much respect for the veterans who come to my office for emotional support. They have served our country with their bodies and minds and experienced much personal sacrifice in this service. In them, I see strength and post-traumatic growth (PTG) but also adjustment issues, depression, anger and anxiety and post-traumatic stress (PTS) and/or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Mostly, the veterans who come to see me in my suburban office are not incapacitated from the trauma to which they’ve been exposed.
